All clinics will take place in and around Squamish at a variety of crags and trailheads.
For clinic participants, you will need to find your way from the morning check-in point to the trailhead where your clinic is taking place (this will require a vehicle and driving). We recognize that not everyone drives or has access to a vehicle. We are in the process of setting up a carpool Facebook group, more info will be shared via email three weeks prior.
Plan your journey in advance, consider any conditions affecting your travel such as road closures, transit interuptions or weather and know where you need to be for check-in on site.Â
As all of our clinics take place outdoors, we recommend coming prepared for all types of weather conditions. Below you will find a list of gear required for each clinic.
For safety reasons, every participant must have all required gear to participate.
Â
We recognize a diversity of barriers exist to owning gear, if you do not own the gear needed for your clinic, consider borrowing and/or renting the required gear ahead of time.
 Â
Climb On Equipment, a locally owned and operated climbing shop located in downtown Squamish is offering free rentals to all clinic participants throughout the weekend. Information on how to access these free rentals will be communicated 3 weeks ahead of the event via email.
We have the answers for all your Academy clinic questions.
If you can't find what you're looking for below, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at climbacademy@arcteryx.com.
Arc’teryx Academies are the pinnacle expression of the Arc'teryx brand in its truest form. Academies are purely focused on progression and education in the mountains.
Over the course of 3 days, we invite you to come and advance your skills, learning from best-in-class athletes and guides. We provide a varying level of clinics, there is something for everyone no matter your skill level.
After an epic day in the mountains, the community comes together for an evening of inspiration rooted in celebration of mountain culture through speakers, music and films.
The heart and soul of the Academy is providing accessible mountain education and bringing the community together through a shared love and passion of the outdoors.
Our clinics take place in the world's best classroom: on the mountains where we all love to play. Led by world-class mountain guides and professional athletes, Academy clinics are an opportunity to learn technical skills and put them into practice in the field.
We build our clinic lineup with an eye to help climbers and runners of all abilities level up their skills. We offer expert-led clinics and workshops for all levels, from beginner to advanced, so there is something for everyone.
We strongly recommend that all participants thoroughly review the requirements and skills needed to participate in their clinics choices before purchasing a clinic to ensure compatibility with the rest of their group.
Once registered for a clinic, you will receive an email confirming your spot. Please ensure you fill out the required waiver from our guiding partners prior to your clinic. Please note, there are two waivers required, one from Arc'teryx (embedded in the registration form) and one from our guiding partners, Canada West Mountain School.
Further details surrounding your clinic, check-in time, meeting spot, and ticket requirements will be sent to you via email 3 weeks before your clinic.
Ticket purchases are non-refundable, except as otherwise stated in the Terms & Conditions. No credit will be given for participant’s failure to attend any clinic(s) for which they are registered.
If you are unable to attend your clinic, you may transfer your spot to a friend. To do so, please email climbacademy@arcteryx.com and CC the friend who will be taking your place. All transfers must be approved in advance. Any payment arrangements between you and your friend are your responsibility; we are unable to facilitate or process money transfers.
Please consider a travel insurance to cover any injuries or other reasons for cancellations. For your protection, we strongly recommend the purchase of travel insurance that combines trip cancellation and interruption coverage, baggage loss, medical coverage, and medical evacuation coverage. Travel insurance is not included in the price.
If the event is cancelled by Arc’teryx, registrants may be extended a full refund (excluding any banking or currency conversion fees).
The Arc'teryx Climb Academy clinics are taking place from August 21 - 23, 2026Â in and around Squamish at a variety of crags and trailheads.
For clinic participants, you will need to find your way from the morning check-in point to the trailhead where your clinic is taking place, which requires driving or carpooling.
We require that all clinic participants be 18 or older with the exception of our teen climbing clinic. We will require a parent or guardian to manage sign ups for underage youth and ensure all waivers are signed.
Clinic check-in times are 7:30AMÂ or 8:00AM depending on the clinic you are signed up for, but please take the time to confirm this the evening before your clinic. Your check-in time will be confirmed with you directly via email 3Â weeks ahead of the event.Â
Please make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes before your clinic check-in starts so you leave enough time for parking and making your way to the event site.
Â
Plan your journey, check the road conditions, and know where you need to be for check-in on site. For all clinics, please respect the clinic check-in time in the morning and come prepared with all your equipment (and lunch).
Yes, please bring your own basic climbing and running equipment (helmets, harness, climbing and/or running shoes) to clinics. Please visit our gear list for a full list of what you need to bring. If you require a gear rental, please ensure you coordinate this in advance of your clinic taking place.
Â
All ropes and advanced climbing gear will be provided by Canada West Mountain School. Please ensure your personal gear is properly labelled so it is easily identifiable at the end of the day. We do not take responsibility for lost equipment that is left behind.
There might be! If you're needing to rent any equipment for your clinic you will need to account for those costs.
If your clinic is utilizing the Sea to Sky Gondola, there may be a $65 ticket fee associated with that. This ticket can be purchased onsite at clinic check-in should the decision be made to use the gondola for your clinic.
Bad weather and rain is all part of the fun, sometimes. Please come prepared for all types of weather with appropriate rain gear and layers. If the weather is very bad and clinics are unable to safely run, alternate arrangements will be made.
We understand that sometimes things change and the weather doesn't cooperate. We will be issuing event updates via the @arcteryxacademy social media channels and via emails directly to clinic participants.
Squamish is approximately a 1.5 hour drive from YVR airport and a 1 hour drive from downtown Vancouver.
If you do not drive or do not have access to a vehicle, we recommend the Squamish Connector as an alternate way to travel to Squamish.
Â
Please note, getting from the clinic check-in point at Pavilion Park to the area where your clinic is taking place requires a vehicle and driving, so please consider this when booking alternate transport or consider our Facebook carpooling group which you will be invited to join 3 weeks ahead of the event via email.
In order to facilitate the event downtown, we will be closing a portion of Cleveland Avenue between Main Street and Victoria Street from Wednesday, August 19th to Monday, August 24th. There will be signage indicating the closure and alternate routes to help with orienting.
Â
Due to this closure and the downtown event, parking will also be reduced near Pavilion Park for clinic check-in and the duration of the event.
We understand that this impacts planning including access and timing. On the day, if possible, we recommend arriving early to help ensure you have time to navigate closures and protentional traffic congestion.
Parking is very limited near Pavilion Park, so we encourage you to consider alternate methods of transport, such as carpooling, biking or walking to evening events.
Â
We will have six (6) accessible parking stalls located on Main Street just behind the main Pavilion at the park. Please contact us if you need further support related to accessible parking and or locating it.
Â
Our Squamish, a community-based non-profit organization in Squamish, BC, will be onsite offering bike valet.
Unfortunate and also exciting are the Squamish infrastructure projects currently in progress. Because of this, accommodation in Squamish is limited this year!
If you are wanting to stay in Squamish, we suggest Airbnbs, Bed and Breakfasts on booking websites, Executive Suites Hotel or the Sandman Hotel. Alternatively, you can expand your search to Lions Bay, Furry Creek or Whistler for some equally beautiful stays.
We recommend arriving early to better ensure seating because it is limited for evening programming at the park.
Â
Seating near the front of the stage will be reserved for accessibility seating. There will be both paved and grass sections in the park to navigate. Please feel free to bring blankets and/or lawn chairs to sit on and use at your leisure. Let us know if you have access needs so that we can best support you in advance of the event.
Â
Pavilion Park does have a limited capacity, so when the maximum capacity is reached we will operate on a one person in for one person out system.
Please note, some of our programming and music contains loud music, flashing lights and quick moving film content. We are aware some of these settings may cause some of our guests discomfort. We invite you to bring along items that may be helpful throughout this programming. Some of the items could be sunglasses for bright lights and ear plugs for loud music.
We will have a sign language interpreter (ASL) on-site for the spoken portions of our programming such as introductions and our keynote speaker presentations.
We will have English subtitles enabled on all films played throughout the night.
We are committed to ensuring our event actions environmental care and consciousness. We need your support to achieve this.
Pemberton Valley Environmental, a member-driven charity that works to protect the natural environment in Whistler and the Sea to Sky, will be onsite supporting with recycling and waste diversion.
Throughout your day, and when ending your evening, please be sure to find an Pemberton Valley Environmental waster station to dispose of or recycle your cans and garbage. They will be indicated by big tents and staff in uniform.
Your experience is important to us. We are committed to prioritizing full participation and access at our events because we believe inclusion is critical to great experiences and welcome environments. We are in the process of updating and modifying the way we approach our event and are committed to continuing to evolve ongoing.
