What is an Arc'teryx Academy?

Arc’teryx Academies are the pinnacle expression of the Arc'teryx brand in its truest form. Academies are purely focused on progression and education in the mountains.

Over the course of 3 days, we invite you to come and advance your skills, learning from best-in-class athletes and guides. We provide a varying level of clinics, there is something for everyone no matter your skill level.

After an epic day in the mountains, the community comes together for an evening of inspiration rooted in celebration of mountain culture through speakers, music and films.

The heart and soul of the Academy is providing accessible mountain education and bringing the community together through a shared love and passion of the outdoors.

How do clinics work?

Our clinics take place in the world's best classroom: on the mountains where we all love to play. Led by world-class mountain guides and professional athletes, Academy clinics are an opportunity to learn technical skills and put them into practice in the field.

We build our clinic lineup with an eye to help climbers and runners of all abilities level up their skills. We offer expert-led clinics and workshops for all levels, from beginner to advanced, so there is something for everyone.

We strongly recommend that all participants thoroughly review the requirements and skills needed to participate in their clinics choices before purchasing a clinic to ensure compatibility with the rest of their group.

Once registered for a clinic, you will receive an email confirming your spot. Please ensure you fill out the required waiver from our guiding partners prior to your clinic. Please note, there are two waivers required, one from Arc'teryx (embedded in the registration form) and one from our guiding partners, Canada West Mountain School.

Further details surrounding your clinic, check-in time, meeting spot, and ticket requirements will be sent to you via email 3 weeks before your clinic.

What is your clinic cancellation policy?

Ticket purchases are non-refundable, except as otherwise stated in the Terms & Conditions. No credit will be given for participant’s failure to attend any clinic(s) for which they are registered.

If you are unable to attend your clinic, you may transfer your spot to a friend. To do so, please email climbacademy@arcteryx.com and CC the friend who will be taking your place. All transfers must be approved in advance. Any payment arrangements between you and your friend are your responsibility; we are unable to facilitate or process money transfers.

Please consider a travel insurance to cover any injuries or other reasons for cancellations. For your protection, we strongly recommend the purchase of travel insurance that combines trip cancellation and interruption coverage, baggage loss, medical coverage, and medical evacuation coverage. Travel insurance is not included in the price.

If the event is cancelled by Arc’teryx, registrants may be extended a full refund (excluding any banking or currency conversion fees).

When and where are the Arc'teryx Climb Academy clinics taking place?

The Arc'teryx Climb Academy clinics are taking place from August 21 - 23, 2026 in and around Squamish at a variety of crags and trailheads.

For clinic participants, you will need to find your way from the morning check-in point to the trailhead where your clinic is taking place, which requires driving or carpooling.

When does clinic registration open?

Clinic registration will go live on April 15, 2026 at 12:00PM PT.

What is the minimum age requirement to take a clinic?

We require that all clinic participants be 18 or older with the exception of our teen climbing clinic. We will require a parent or guardian to manage sign ups for underage youth and ensure all waivers are signed.

When do clinics start? When do I need to arrive?

Clinic check-in times are 7:30AM or 8:00AM depending on the clinic you are signed up for, but please take the time to confirm this the evening before your clinic. Your check-in time will be confirmed with you directly via email 3 weeks ahead of the event.

Please make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes before your clinic check-in starts so you leave enough time for parking and making your way to the event site.

Plan your journey, check the road conditions, and know where you need to be for check-in on site. For all clinics, please respect the clinic check-in time in the morning and come prepared with all your equipment (and lunch).

When do clinics end?

All clinics should be completed by 4:00PM but will depend on your group, as some may end earlier or later.

Will my running clinic take the full day to complete?

Some running clinics will not take the full day to complete. This depends on the objective of your clinic and the speed of your group.

What do I bring? Do I need to bring my own gear?

Yes, please bring your own basic climbing and running equipment (helmets, harness, climbing and/or running shoes) to clinics. Please visit our gear list page for a full list of what you need to bring. If you require a gear rental, please ensure you coordinate this in advance of your clinic taking place.

All ropes and advanced climbing gear will be provided by Canada West Mountain School. Please ensure your personal gear is properly labelled so it is easily identifiable at the end of the day. We do not take responsibility for lost equipment that is left behind.

Do I need my own means of transportation?

Yes, we will not be offering rides or transportation to your trailhead so please ensure you have your own means of transportation. Clinic participants will be required to drive from the morning check-in point to the trailhead where your clinic is taking place.

Are there any additional costs outside of my clinic registration fee I should be aware of?

There might be! If you're needing to rent any equipment for your clinic you will need to account for those costs.

If your clinic is utilizing the Sea to Sky Gondola, there may be a $65 ticket fee associated with that. This ticket can be purchased onsite at clinic check-in should the decision be made to use the gondola for your clinic.

Will food and drinks be provided?

We do not organize food and drinks for the clinics, so please make sure you bring whatever you need along for the day to ensure you're properly fuelled.

Please show up to clinic check-in having had breakfast and with your lunch packed so you don't hold up your group.

Can I bring my pet?

Although the Arc'teryx Climb Academy team loves all animals, please leave your furry (or feathered) friends at home.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Bad weather and rain is all part of the fun, sometimes. Please come prepared for all types of weather with appropriate rain gear and layers. If the weather is very bad and clinics are unable to safely run, alternate arrangements will be made.

We understand that sometimes things change and the weather doesn't cooperate. We will be issuing event updates via the @arcteryxacademy social media channels and via emails directly to clinic participants.
