CAST & CREW

Jordan Cannon

ATHLETE

Company

Growing up all over the East Coast, Jordan was surrounded by many world class climbing areas, but didn’t discover his passion for rock climbing until he moved to Southern California for university. Proudly living out of his minivan full-time, Jordan prefers to climb in a traditional style and has an affinity for climbing history and its heroes.

Samuel Crossley

Director & Cinematographer

Company

Known for his work on the Academy Award winning Documentary, Free Solo, Samuel enjoys safely documenting athletes as they push themselves in remote areas and high risk situations. Big mountains and tired climbers fuel his creativity as he travels full-time. Samuel lives his professional life as an openly gay man and is passionate about revealing the diversity and human stories within the climbing community.

Mary Jeanes

Editor

Company

Having worked in every aspect of film production, Mary has a well-rounded wealth of knowledge and an overflowing positive energy. Hailing from the muggy mangrove forests of Florida, Mary lives in her van basing out of Boulder, CO. Having worked with Outside TV, REEL ROCK, The American Alpine Club, and more, Mary’s freelancing lifestyle affords her time to climb and ski in the mountains and play with dogs. Other weird things about Mary; she thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail and was in a circus, not at the same time.

MARK HUDON

ATHLETE

Company

Living his retired life rock climbing, mountain biking, and kite surfing, Mark is a self proclaimed “bum.” Living out of his van full-time, being happy, helpful, and psyched is his motto. Mark is a proud dad to his daughter Ellen and owner of Hood River Coffee Co. Born in New Hampshire, Mark began climbing in the 70’s before would later move to California and pioneer the direction of free-climbing in Yosemite with his partner Max Jones.

ATHLETE TRIVIA NIGHT

WATCH NOW

In the face of a global pandemic and the tightening of restrictions on “loose night out bar trivia,” our resident comedian, Katie Burrell, rounded up some of the most elite members of our global athlete team in an attempt to have a bit of fun with one of those “indicative of the times” zoom trivia nights. With players from all over the world, Katie did her best to get answers out of the athletes, but the questions were a little different than they expected. Did they have fun, nonetheless? Well...turns out the Arc’teryx global athletes are as serious, competitive and ruthless as one might expect.

Katie Burrell is a comedian, director, screenwriter and marketing professional, who, when not chasing athletes and film work around the world. Burrell's background in stand-up comedy, improv, marketing and film, has landed her in some incredibly cool places and on some very exciting projects. She likes to play in a subversive space that takes glorifying athletes as heroes and finding the humor in the shared human experience by highlighting the things that make us the most real (and therefore, endearing). Apart from stand-up and ever-persistent insta-storying, her work includes films such as RAF, INFLUENCER, DREAM JOB and BROMANCE, to name a few.

ATHLETES PRESENT IN THE FILM

ALANNAH YIP

ATHLETE

Company

Alannah won her first National Climbing Championship at the tender age of 12. Today she’s Canada’s top “Overall” climber and part of the historic first wave of Olympic hopefuls who are evolving the sport of competition climbing. She brings focus, stoke and formidable brain power to everything she does whether it’s building a training wall outfitted with sensors, rapidly analyzing a competition boulder move, or ripping a gnarly line on her mountain bike. She’s a third generation engineer whose specialty is Mechatronics – or robots.

IZZY LYNCH

Editor

Company

While most Calgary kids Izzy’s age were riding the lifts and hitting gates, the Lynch family was busy building a backcountry lodge in British Columbia, an experience that fostered Izzy’s love for wild spaces at a young age. Although Izzy did race and compete at an international level, it was the feeling of freedom that she found in the isolated mountains at the lodge that always drove her. Now a mother, she shares those same values with her own child. As a storyteller, Izzy’s craft is to merge skiing with those kismet moments she has in remote areas, sharing different narratives of herself and others pushing their boundaries.

NINA CAPREZ

Title

Company

Nina sees climbing as a way of finding truth, facing herself with each move - the good, the bad and the ugly. Growing up on a farm in Switzerland, Nina feels most at home outside, having the sky as her roof and the earth as her bed. As a self-professed 'bon vivant hippy' she seeks an emotional calling to each project, but don’t for one second think that she is flighty. Nina can be as sharp as a Swiss knife (which is one of her nicknames), efficiently climbing, training hard and expressing herself completely through her spot. She knows what a privilege it is to live a climbing gypsy life, feeling gratitude even on the days she doesn’t send.

STINIUS SKJØTSKIFT

Title

Company

Hailing from Oppdal, Norway and known for his bio 1080 mute grabs and other wild tricks, Stinius could have been a real contender, but once he found the spirited flow of freeriding, he never wore his goggles on the inside of his helmet again. Taking his technical skills from racing, slick style from skating and tricks from freestyle, Stinius has developed into a fierce and strong freerider, although he would never brag about being such a humble perfectionist. Stinius is full of positive energy and when he isn’t stomping landings, he’s making people shake a leg on the dancefloor with his lively DJing.

WILL GADD

Title

Company

At the age of eight, Will climbed his first big peak and never looked back. With monumental ideas and rather practical execution, Will has won gold medals in rock, ice and mixed climbing, set world records and climbed objectives that may never be repeated again. Will’s boundless fascination with calculated risk has made him a voice of reason in the most unreasonable way. As a father of two, an Association of Canadian Mountain Guides alpine guide, a Canadian Sports Hall of Famer and a United Nations Mountain Hero, Will keeps his life full with a constant stream of adventure.

MIKE GARDNER

Title

Company

Mike's guiding apprenticeship began informally, with his first mountaineering trips, age eight, with his Exum Mountain Guide father and saw him become one of the youngest guides Exum has ever hired. Named one of the best skiers under 18 by Powder magazine, he moved on from the competitive freeski scene to seek more personally testing objectives in the biggest mountain ranges on Earth. Industry veterans have rated Mike’s ascent on Father and Son’s Wall as worthy of a Piolet d’Or award, but for Mike, the bigger question is not how to be gracious about your successes, but who you are when you’re not on top of the game.

FORREST COOTS

Title

Company

Growing up skiing on the 14,179ft high volcanic Mt. Shasta, Forrest was instilled with an early appreciation for adventure. Equipped with a ski racing background, Forrest, who is often considered to be a well-oiled machine by his ski partners, finds solace in steep technical terrain. However, in true Californian form, he gently removes all conscious expectations of a journey and lets the odyssey take over. When Forrest, who is a father of two, isn’t meticulously measuring out rations for his next exploit, he can be found working on Mt. Shasta as a climbing ranger or exercising his mind with his political science degree.

CHAD SAYERS

Title

Company

Living a truly cosmic existence, Chad brings balance and beauty to every aspect of his life. Chad first picked up the camera before he found his gift, skiing. He has since blended the two disciplines, gracefully combining them with his passion for voyage and discovery. Chad’s analog take on this digital world brings a unique and textured perspective that transcends trends. Besides being a skier, Chad is an avid fisherman, surfer, climber and yoga practitioner. With wonder for the larger more existential questions, Chad chases meaning and purpose in everything he does.
